This September, our leadership team will be embarking on an incredible endeavour: cycling 250 miles from our factory in Somerset all the way to our sales meeting in the suburbs of Paris. It’s going to be tough, but they're up for the challenge! The goal? To raise funds to hire a full-time youth worker to support disadvantaged young people in our local community of Somerset. With a team of Eight cyclists (Ed, Craig, Nigel, Steven, Charlie, Rocky, Jake and Jamie) in various stages of ability and fitness (!) and two amazing support members (Kirsty and Christopher). Your donation, big or small, will make a world of difference and give us a huge boost as we prepare for this journey. To help us make a difference, please visit https://lnkd.in/eSAZSn6Y and make a donation. Please follow the journey along on our Instagram: https://lnkd.in/eMxAzZb8 .Your generosity will mean so much to us and to the young people we’re supporting! #teamchallenge #charitycycleride #eurilaitchallenge #eurilait #supportthecause #somersettoparis

🚨An advisory has been issued, recommending applying the recent #Microsoft #security #updates from this week's patch Tuesday. The Vulnerability, a remote code execution (RCE) across IPv6 TCP/IP, has been issued with a CVSS score of 9.8.  Meaning, #urgent action is recommended. By using this method, an attacker could perform an RCE using arbitrary code to take over a chosen system.  This Vulnerability can compromise systems without any end user interaction and it can circumnavigate firewall policies, resulting in the total control of the system. It is advised to immediately run #Microsoft's #patches, which were released (13th of August 2024), or disable IPv6 on Windows endpoints (although this should only be used as a temporary measure). Admins should be aware further updates could be released in the coming days. https://lnkd.in/gDX79euM

🚨 Many Microsoft services have been disrupted Globally, which is believed to only affect #CrowdStrike customers. The issue is affecting all sectors in the UK, Europe, US, Australia and New Zealand on #Windows devices only. Mac and Linux are unaffected. This is a fluid and Global event so reports are limited and fast moving. The affected update, which was pushed by CrowdStrike earlier today has subsequently been pulled, although it is advised to speak to your CrowdStrike Account Manager or Technical Support for further assistance. https://lnkd.in/dajvZwJC

🚨 The #Qualys #Threat Research Unit (#TRU) has identified a Remote Unauthenticated Code Execution Vulnerability in OpenSSH's server glibc-based Linux systems, which has been assigned CVE-2024-6368. A Remote Unauthorised Code Execution is a way a threat actor can run an arbitrary code with the highest privileges to take over systems.  This then allows the attacker to move laterally, manipulate data and install malware into the network. The TRU have discovered approximately 14 million potentially vulnerable OpenSSH servers, exposed to the internet.  It is advised to #patch #immediately: OpenSSH versions earlier than 4.4p1 are vulnerable to this signal handler race condition unless they are patched for CVE-2006-5051 and CVE-2008-4109. Versions from 4.4p1 up to, but not including, 8.5p1 are not vulnerable due to a transformative patch for CVE-2006-5051, which made a previously unsafe function secure. The vulnerability resurfaces in versions from 8.5p1 up to, but not including, 9.8p1 due to the accidental removal of a critical component in a function.

The attack is believed to have originated from Synnovis, who is an outsource provide of laboratory services. Synnovis has been subject to two other ransomware attacks which resulted in terabits if information published. It is yet to be known what the implications of this latest attack, however, if the past has anything to go by, thousands of confidential information will likely be compromised. https://lnkd.in/dRmuMSTS
