Had a brilliant morning at The Cleveland Community Safety Hub for a workshop on Supply Chain Data Security. As the digital landscape evolves, our businesses and supply chains face growing risks from cyber threats like data breaches and ransomware attacks. Kelly Close from Cleveland Police (UK) delivered an eye-opening session highlighting the increasing risks that the police are seeing. It was fantastic to connect with businesses across various sectors, sharing insights on data protection, risk reduction, and building trust. Andy from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU) highlighted the staggering £219 Billion impact of fraud in the UK. This reinforced my belief in a simple yet effective approach to staying safe: Stop: Take a moment to think Challenge: Question everything Assess: Review all available information Manage: Report incidents to Action Fraud The LEGO-based tabletop exercise was a highlight, sparking lively debates about security strategies on tight budgets. It's clear that balancing cybersecurity needs with financial constraints is a universal challenge. Key takeaways included: • Understanding supply chain cyber threats • The critical importance of data protection • Managing third-party risks • Incident response preparedness The world of cybersecurity is complex and the complexities are ever increasing, it's crucial to stay informed and proactive. How is your business addressing these challenges? Thank you RTC North and Simon Cave for putting on such brilliant events. #DataSecurity #Cybersecurity #SupplyChain #BusinessResilience
