An incredible report on the impact of Book of Beasties' workshops and the Happy Heads Card Game on kids AND adults in Derbyshire. More proof that Book of Beasties is one of the most effective play-based emotional wellbeing tools available for children today. “I recently introduced the Happy Heads Game to a small group of children with SEND. The game helped them open up about their emotions, and we’ve noticed a significant improvement in how they manage stress and communicate their feelings in such a short space of time. It’s a fantastic resource for fostering emotional literacy.” Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eU49hbZR #BookOfBeasties #Derbyshire #HappyHeadsCardGame #EmotionalWellbeing #PlayBasedLearning #ChildrensMentalHealth

The Happy Heads Card Game was shortlisted for the Best Cross-Curriculum Game of 2024 by Imagination Gaming. Which for Book of Beasties is a really **really** big deal. For years we have been quietly, but doggedly working to introduce a playful approach to mental, emotional and social health in education with a focus on the play experience for the children, to increase engagement and therefore impact. And this brilliant accolade proves we got the play bit right. 🥳 🤲 On the other hand, we keep hearing about the incredible difference Book of Beasties is having on the lives of children in so many different settings. 🤰Here's a quote from a mum: "My daughter became visibly empathetic toward her friend after learning how she struggled emotionally at school. This empathy extended beyond the game and sparked a deeper conversation between the two children" 💚 And another from a SEND setting: "Book of Beasties succeeded not only in engaging this child with SEN but also in promoting a more inclusive environment where all children, regardless of need, could participate." Book of Beasties is surpassing what it set out to achieve - and it means the world to us. Back to work.

A case study was shared with us recently from a Holiday Camp in Barking & Dagenham. And the findings have blown us away, and as usual made us a little tearful. Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/eXN_xYm4 This particular quote really stood out to us: "This case highlights the profound impact of structured, emotionally supportive play on children’s social and emotional development. Book of Beasties succeeded not only in engaging this child with SEN but also in promoting a more inclusive environment where all children, regardless of need, could participate.
