This dedicated group, made up of individuals from different generations and roles across our company, focuses on implementing meaningful sustainability initiatives. 🤝   Recently, our Net Zero Heroes played a key role in our successful ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems audit. The team shared progress on various environmental projects, highlighting the alignment between our sustainability efforts and overall strategy. The auditor was very impressed by the depth of initiatives and how they reflect our continuous commitment to environmental improvement!   The team’s work extends beyond audits. They’re driving projects like a voltage optimiser and a solar array to reduce our energy consumption and are actively engaging with our supply chain to understand their net zero targets and address our Scope 3 emissions.   As Booth Welsh continues on its path towards sustainability, the Net Zero Heroes are helping us integrate these practices across our business. We’re looking forward to seeing how their initiatives evolve and contribute to our goals.

This week marks #ScotClimateWeek 2024, and at Booth Welsh, we’re reflecting on the progress we’ve made over the last three years toward embedding Net Zero and sustainable practices into our business and that of our clients. 🌏 1. Starting out as a founding member of the Net Zero Nation Net Zero Accelerator 3 years ago, we have been working alongside other companies, collectively learning, measuring our emissions continuously to help us factor carbon into our decision making process.  2.Our carbon reduction plan is underway. We have reduced 40 tonnes of emissions through right sizing and implementing a more efficient boiler system, which was led by our Powering Futures team of Next Generation innovators. 3.Our Net Zero Heroes team which is made up of a mix of generations and skills from across the business is actively driving the implementation of our carbon reduction plan. 4.Our Supply chain is having their Net Zero readiness assessed and we will be actively helping and supporting them to create their own decarbonisation pathways actively reducing our Scope 3 footprint. 5.We are co-leading a cohort of 15 local Ayrshire companies on a Net Zero Accelerator supported by North Ayrshire Council with another local company Ailsa Reliability Solutions Ltd. and that cohort will be graduating from their Year 1 on the Net Zero Accelerator next Wednesday at our offices here in Irvine. 6.Partnering with SMDH we have developed our Energy and Emissions Monitoring Dashboard and made it available to other organisations helping them discover opportunities to save energy and reduce emissions We are proud of our team's efforts in driving progress towards our sustainable growth goals and supporting our clients in achieving their own sustainable growth plans. We are delighted to announce that Booth Welsh has been granted funding for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). 👏 A KTP is a government-supported initiative that helps businesses access academic expertise to drive innovation and growth. Our KTP will support a three-year programme focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Booth Welsh’s business processes, enhancing efficiency in both engineering and project delivery. The project is a collaboration with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), who are currently recruiting a candidate to join us and lead this work. This AI initiative aims to boost our productivity, sharpen our competitive edge, and accelerate growth across the business. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Stuart McKay, our Senior KTP Manager, for the official KTP launch meeting. Last Thursday, we hosted our annual charity golf day at Dundonald Links, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather – the best we’ve had in years! ☀️⛳️🏌️♀️It was a fantastic day and a great opportunity to thank our valued clients for their continued support, especially as we mark one year since our MBO.
