About us
Border to Coast Pensions Partnership is one of the largest pension pools in the UK. Established in 2018, it manages the investment of pensions assets of 11 like-minded Local Government Pension Scheme funds who have c.£64bn of assets. Border to Coast manages the assets of its 11 Partner Funds through both internal and external management within a number of investment vehicles, including an Authorised Contractual Scheme. We continue to develop our investment capabilities, including the launch of further investment funds. To enable us to do this, we are looking for high calibre colleagues to work in a customer-focused environment ensuring Border to Coast delivers exceptional investment services to its Partner Funds. In 2024, it's also become a Sunday Times Best Place to Work.

Today we’re marking #WorldMenopauseDay to raise awareness of menopause and to support options to improve health and well-being for women. Our Chief People Officer, Louise Bryan, said: “Border to Coast is an inclusive workplace that values all employees, whatever their life stage. Experienced colleagues are valuable assets. Supporting them and having open conversations about menopause can encourage colleagues experiencing menopause and its symptoms to seek the help they may need.” Menopause was one of the topics at our recent Wellbeing Day and our all-colleague Menopause group meets regularly – it’s part of our commitment to the wellbeing of all our colleagues. #IMS #internationalmenopausesociety #worldmenopauseday #worldmenopauseday2024

It was great to be in the audience at #PLSAannual2024 to hear from Emma Reynolds on the Government’s latest thinking on pensions, investment and UK growth. The Minister mentioned the Government received more than 200 responses to the call for evidence for phase one of the Pensions Investment Review. Climate change is a material risk that responsible investors must consider in investment portfolios. Climate Change Manager Teju Akande discussed our approach to climate change scenario analysis on a recent panel at the UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment (CGFI) Leeds Innovation Hub, highlighting both the value and limitations of analysis tools as well as the ongoing debate over whether current scenario models are consistent with climate science. At Border to Coast, we expect the models to evolve over time and will continue to monitor progress. Increasing the ability to consider the impact of climate change on the investments we make can help support better outcomes for Partner Funds. Thank you to the fellow panellists for the interesting and lively debate! Iain Clacher Doug Baird Hannah Bloomfield Andrew Copland

We are incredibly proud to be among the founder investors to the Border To Coast Pensions Partnership UK Real Estate Fund – it is a real testament to what can be achieved when the LGPS comes together, and prime example of the benefits of scale pooling can provide. George Graham, Director at SYPA, said: “The creation of such a large fund, dedicated to investing in the UK, provides Partner Funds with access to a significant investment capability that has not previously been available to many, as well as access to assets of a type which would not have been available to Partner Funds acting alone.” #LGPS #pooling #UKRealEstate
