Bradford City Village

Plans to transform Bradford’s former retail heart into a new sustainable ‘City Village’ have taken a major step forward this week. Bradford Council has appointed ECF, the partnership between Homes England, Legal & General and Muse, as its preferred development partner to deliver the scheme. ECF’s appointment, via Muse, was approved in principle by the Council’s Executive Board, subject to final contract agreements later this month. A second phase of public consultation will take place later this year, with an application expected to be submitted in spring 2025. An interesting report from Born In Bradford shows that Bradford’s Clean Air Zone (CAZ) is improving public health in the city with GPs reporting seeing “nearly 600 fewer respiratory patients each month on average” since CAZ was introduced in 2022.
