Bradford is UK City of Culture 2025. Bradford has been named as UK City of Culture 2025. In May 2022, live on BBC The One Show, Bradford was announced as winner of the UK City of Culture 2025 title. Bradford district’s year of culture is set to deliver more than 1,000 new performances and events including 365 artist commissions, a series of major arts festivals and major national and international collaborations. Bradford’s history of fierce independence and of progressive social reform and its spectacular cultural heritage offer a powerful launchpad for a UK City of Culture celebration in 2025 that could only happen in Bradford.

You could feature in our new cookbook 'Meet Our Mothers', due to be published in 2025! 🥘 Artist Deepa Mann-Kler is collecting dozens of treasured family recipes and stories from communities across Bradford District – from mothers and fathers, grandparents and great-grandparents, daughters and sons. These recipes show how cooking brings and binds together our families and communities – and how it allows us to take a little piece of home with us wherever we go. This beautiful cookbook will be published in autumn 2025, with special digital content bringing many of the book’s recipes to life. Is there a dish that means something special to you and your family? We’re on the lookout for recipes to include in the book alongside the stories of the people and families behind the food.
