Our research spans the whole translational pipeline from discovery science to clinical application. Whilst much of our research focuses on stroke, we also investigate other cerebrovascular diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia.

My 3 Exciting Updates! 🔬 Completed a research placement in David Brough's lab group 🎓 Graduated from The University of Manchester with a First Class degree 🎉 Accepted an offer to start a PhD supported by the Medical Research Council and NF2 BioSolutions UK & Europe 🔬 This Spring I had the pleasure of working on a project investigating the cytoplasmic DNA sensor protein AIM2. It was such a joy to be back in the lab after my placement year, studying basic science mechanisms that have implications for human health. Talking to other students in the group and supported by David, I confirmed my desire to pursue graduate education! 🎓 After a tumultuous FIVE YEARS, I finally have my BSc (Hons) Neuroscience with Industrial/Professional Experience degree. My day was made so special with the support of my parents, aunt and uncle, graduating alongside my friends in Neuroscience and Biology. Best of all was my outfit - a traditional kebaya and batik skirt made by my mother to celebrate my Indonesian roots - which made me feel incredible. 🎉 Finally, I'm thrilled to announce that I have a place on the MRC Doctoral Training Programme at UoM starting this autumn! I'm excited to join researchers in the Brain Inflammation Group and Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre who have driven research into NF2-Schwannomatosis searching for tumour characteristics we can leverage to develop treatments and a cure. I'm looking forward to returning to AV Hill and continuing to develop as a scientist with a great team - David Brough, Kevin Couper and Omar Pathmanaban. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and been a part of my journey thus far 🧠
