We are urgently calling for change as, two years on, the recommendations from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) report remain largely unimplemented. After 7 years of work and input from countless victims and survivors, the lack of action is unacceptable—especially as 1 in 10 children will face sexual abuse, and the rates continue to rise. We urge the Government to establish a Child Protection Authority and appoint a cabinet-level minister for children to ensure accountability. The time for action is now—victims and survivors cannot afford more delays. Write to your local MP and demand action now. To find the contact details for your local MP please visit https://buff.ly/3hvgz8x To read the IISCA report please visit https://buff.ly/48gSubC #IICSA #EndChildAbuse #ProtectChildren

🌟We are delighted to announce Chris Sargisson as a new ambassador for Brave Futures🌟 Read below to find out why this role holds special meaning for Chris and his aspirations during his time as an ambassador. ▫️What inspired you to become an ambassador for Brave Futures, and what excites you about this role?▫️ ▫️I waved anonymity following the conviction of one of my former schoolteachers I have since been afforded opportunities to speak openly about the long-term impact of childhood sexual abuse and grooming. As a result, I’ve heard from many people with similar lived experiences and so really do understand the incredible value and impact of effective early intervention. I’m driven to do all I can for this vital, skilled, charitable support service to be recognised and well-funded. ▫️Why did you choose to represent Brave Futures as an ambassador?▫️ ▫️It’s in the name and so the culture of the organisation. One that seeks to create positive outcomes from the most challenging, awful experiences a child could encounter. With the bravery of young people comes a future that for many, at the start was unimagined. ▫️What do you hope to achieve through your role as an ambassador for Brave Futures?▫️ ▫️To play a meaningful part in enabling a greater number of people, regionally and beyond becoming aware what is sadly a growing need and demand for this high skilled service and the impact it has. From awareness also comes the understanding of ways to support the organisation that principally operates courtesy of charitable donations. ▫️How do you envision making a difference through your work with the charity?▫️ ▫️Helping the organisation launch and establish itself as a relevant, understood, and important charity operating for the benefit of those in Norfolk who need its services. ▫️What’s a unique or unexpected fact about you that people might be surprised to learn?▫️ ▫️My school experiences and a very late in life dyslexic diagnosis resulted in me bouncing out from education very early never to return. As a result, I’m entirely self-taught and have not a single qualification to my name. I had a brave future, just went about it the hard way. 🌟We’re truly excited to welcome him to the team and can’t wait to start working with him!🌟 https://lnkd.in/eT39SCqs
