Earlier this week, Scott Davies and Liam Deery visited the University of Nottingham to deliver a practical workshop on hygienic process design and Cleaning in Place (CIP). Our workshop delivered to Food Science/Food Production Management and MSc Brewing students covered a range of practical activities to reinforce the importance of an earlier lecture on hygienic design and CIP. A key part of the workshop was to allow the students to see and experience the research pilot brewery, which was built by Briggs of Burton and offered valuable insight to the students. A special thanks to the University of Nottingham team including Jack Cavanagh for hosting and supporting us at the workshop session and thanks to David Cook and Chris Powell for the opportunity. #BriggsofBurton #HygienicProcessDesign #Brewing

Inspiring the next generation of coppersmiths at McMillan Coppersmiths and Fabricators. Marking yesterday's Make UK's National Manufacturing Day, we welcomed students from East Lothian Works to McMillan, where they could experience first-hand the craft of fabricating copper distillation equipment. Since joining BRIGGS Group in 2019, McMillan now recruits up to 4 apprentices a year, each joining the team to learn the fundamental principles of fabrication and welding. The day began with an introduction from Robert Buxton (CEO), followed by sustainability and apprentice talks, and a production tour, from both the BRIGGS and McMillan team. Raising a glass to the great American spirit, Bourbon Whiskey. As a spirit that goes back centuries in American history, September marks #BourbonHeritageMonth as a global celebration of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. Our Kentucky team supports some of the world’s most recognised bourbon brands to enhance their production efficiencies. This expertise lends a hand to not only brownfield expansions that feature site master-planning, CO₂ and alcohol recovery, but also to look ahead to increasing operational sustainability targets in growth, utility demand and infrastructure. Last weekend, BRIGGS team members Pawan Sehra and James Barrell had the pleasure of attending Ardgowan Distillery Company Limited's Open Day, in a 'global celebration of whisky'. Leading the design and build of this new distillery, the day also marked a moment for the BRIGGS team to recognise the hard work of our team, as they continue to work on completing the facility. We can't wait to raise a dram once complete with the Ardgowan team. Special thanks to Martin McAdam and Ardgowan for inviting us to such a fantastic event. #BriggsOfBurton #ArdgowanDistillery #ScotchWhisky

We are immensely proud to be designing, engineering, and building the new distillery for Ardgowan Distillery Company Limited, right in the heart of Scotland. A big thank you to Ardgowan and John McGrane for sharing another fantastic video update on the project’s progress. It’s exciting to see our industry-leading mashing technology, washbacks, and process engineering taking shape. Onward to the next milestone 📽 A huge well done to every member of #TeamBriggs for their dedication to supporting the Ardgowan team. We can’t wait for the Open Day on 7th September 🥃 #distilledspirits #whisky #scotch #engineering #mashingtechnology #washbacks #ardgowandistillery
The big milestone moments are becoming more frequent as the Distillery takes shape. Hot on the heels of our mashtun, we have seen the installation of our six washbacks. Once again installed by AIS Vanguard with John McGrane from manufacturer Briggs of Burton overseeing, their arrival takes us one step closer to enjoying a dram of Ardgowan Distillery Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Over to John himself to tell us more... 🎥: Lost Clock Productions
