Happy International Women’s Day 🧡 🤔 Did you know that… 💭 Only 49% of female students feel confident about securing a role after university - compared to 64% of male students. 📉 Confidence drops to just 36% for female students from state-educated or low-income backgrounds. 📝 Female students feel 20% less prepared for the workplace than their male counterparts. 🤝 Just 39% of female students believe the graduate job market is inclusive. These findings come from our annual research report, which surveyed 14,000+ students and graduates across the UK last year. They represent real challenges that female students and graduates continue to face. They highlight barriers to confidence, to opportunity and to a truly inclusive job market. Barriers that shouldn’t exist. At Bright Network, we are committed to breaking down these barriers and ensuring that every woman has the support, skills and confidence to succeed. We are in awe of Annasley Park and her Ocean Survivoar Challenge 2025 🚣♀️ 🌊 She sent us this video from the middle of the Atlantic - a rare moment of calm in her solo row. Her resilience is nothing short of inspiring. Annasley knew fear was an inevitable part of the challenge. She prepared as much as possible, but some things can’t be avoided. Instead of running from fear, she chose to face it head-on. And whilst she's doing it, she's taking the time out to share her inspiring message of resilience with our members: "You’ve got the courage to keep going. When you put your mind to something, you can do it. No matter how scary it feels. No matter how much you want to hide away. Face it." What a fantastic lesson for Gen Z - that no matter what life brings, the most important thing is having the courage to show up for yourself and face your fears.
