Happy Brighton Pride from all of us at Switchboard, we hope you all have a safe and fun time celebrating! We're so excited to join Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus and Regency Radio for the Brighton Parade tomorrow. It's a wonderful opportunity for us as LGBTQ+ people to be loud, proud, visible, and to raise awareness of some of the issues that affect our community today. We hope to spot some of your lovely faces over the course of the parade. Many of our staff, volunteers and service users will be onboard and walking in front of the fabulous Brighton & Hove Pride Bus - look out for us and give us a wave! #brightonpride

Eastbourne Pride was brilliant this year 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ The turnout for the parade was the largest so far, which was great to see. It was lovely to chat with people about the support we offer for the LGBTQ+ community at our stall in Princes Park. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

Happy Trans Pride 🏳️⚧️ We loved joining the march and running our stall in the Trans Pride community area. It is so amazing to see Trans Pride grow every year, with 40,000 people attending this year. Thanks to all of the many friends, old and new, who stopped by to say hello 💗 Content warning: the last slide honours Trans people who have passed away, many due to violence.

May 17 is the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). The day is also known as Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination to include those who are lesbian, queer and asexual. The theme for this year is “No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all”. The theme is a call for unity: only through solidarity for each other will we create a world without injustice, where no one is left behind. #idahobit Image description: White text against an orange background reads "International Day of Homophobia". In the centre, there is a graphic of people of diverse ethnicities displaying the Pride flag, the Bisexual flag, the Intersex flag and the Trans flag. Under the graphic, white text says "No one left behind, justice for all!". Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard's logo is at the bottom of the image.

This Thursday, May 16, 2024, help us celebrate the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)! The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access and inclusion, and the more than One Billion people with disabilities/impairments. We include image descriptions and access information in our posts, which helps make our content and events more accessible. #GAAD Image description: Black text against a light pink background reads "Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day!". Above and below the text, there are graphics of disabled people of diverse ethnicities wearing colourful clothes. Some are wearing the neurodiversity symbol, and some are wearing sunflower lanyards. Above the text, there is a wheelchair user with an arm tattoo of a snake, a Deaf person wearing afro puffs and hearing aids, and a person in a pink hat wearing a sunflower lanyard to highlight their hidden disability.
