We’re celebrating the fantastic efforts of our firefighters Alexia and Ricky, who have completed the Welsh Firefighters Challenge earlier this week. 🙌 Every year, the Welsh Firefighter Challenge tests the physical and mental agility of all who take part. It’s an opportunity for firefighters to come together and support, and celebrate, each other’s achievements. Lex and Ricky have been training for this event for some time, and proudly represented Fire Team BRS earlier this week at the event. 🧑🚒 The challenge is a course, made up of 8 different stations, all of which have to be completed within the allotted 6 minutes (all in full fire kit and wearing breathing apparatus on their backs!). The stations include challenges to test the physical endurance of the participants, ending with dragging a 70kg dummy 50 meters! Both Ricky and Lex smashed the challenge, with Ricky finishing in under 4 minutes, and Lex setting the bar high by finishing 2nd in the under 29 female category! Lex then went on to compete in the team relays with a female team from other services. Their team won the title of ‘Second Fastest Female Team’. Huge congratulations to both Ricky and Alexia, for representing Team BRS so brilliantly, and for raising funds for charity! Well done 👏🧯🧑🚒 #BristolAirport #Charity #Welshfirefighterchallenge #teamwork
