Another excellent Climate Leaders session this morning. Our focus was scope 3 data, a huge challenge for many, and it was fascinating to have a deep-dive into the topic with Joseph Watts of Wiper and True and Thomas Finn of UWE Bristol. This led onto a lively discussion, with members sharing experience and challenges. Key takeaway: Measure in the best way you can, don’t worry if it’s not perfect, be transparent about your methodology and try and improve next year. A big thank you to all those that took part, and Alicia Winter and Mott MacDonald for hosting. We're always open to new members of the group, and its a great way to receive peer support from other organisations with your climate journey. It will be no surprise to anyone who lives in Bristol that one of the biggest problems is the buses. And within the problem of the buses, there are many issues! Emma Geen, our Climate and Disability Programme Associate, has created a short film from a recent forum theatre event. At this forum theatre, participants explored accessibility issues with Bristol buses for Disabled people and discussed potential solutions. Watch the film now on our YouTube channel 👇

A whole year of Community Climate Action in Bristol 👏 https://buff.ly/48rEn3m As we move into the final year of delivery of our The National Lottery Community Fund funded Community #ClimateAction Project, we wanted to reflect on some of the achievements. Over the last 12 months, communities and local residents have hosted a wealth of events and activities to help progress their climate action plans and to reduce their overall environmental impact, with 190 tonnes of carbon saved this year alone! Five more communities have produced their own plans and a further six have joined the learning and mentoring programme. The Inclusive Transport Vision was launched, we’ve started a new Climate and Disability programme, the Community Leadership Panel has consulted on several citywide initiatives, and we’ve just launched a collection of short films creatively exploring a just transition. And if that wasn’t enough, over £1 million 😮 of additional funding for community climate action in Bristol has been leveraged thanks to the project!
