About us
The British Fluid Power Association BFPA, established in 1959, represents over 240 British companies in the Pneumatic and Hydraulic Industry. Located in Chipping Norton Oxfordshire England to perform those tasks which individual companies cannot justify. The following short list is a flavour of just some of our activities. • Technical Standards, the BFPA is a major contributor to Fluid Power standards via BSI and ISO, we are an external Secretariat to BSI. • Statistics have been collected by the BFPA for over 30 years and are the only source of market Data. Reporting monthly, quarterly, annual, product specific and the all-important salary survey. • Training, in Industrial and Mobile systems for Pneumatics and Hydraulics and safety and skills development Hose courses. Many of the are CETOP, the European body in which the BFPA plays an active part. • Exhibitions worldwide and local are attended by BFPA often in the as a pavilion, giving members the opportunity of top locations and the chance to look more impressive than if exhibiting alone. The UK IFPEX show runs at the NEC every two years and is the only showcase for Hydraulics and Pneumatics in the UK. These are just a few of the many activities performed by the BFPA on behalf of the Fluid Power Industry but above all it is the integrity of our technology and the people that work within it that matters. By dealing with a BFPA member the customer is assured of the best possible in product, supply and advice.

Was great to be back in the northeast last week and an absolute pleasure to present, on behalf of the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), Alan Egglestone to certify MD Engineering Fluid Power as the only BFPA approved training facility in the northeast to deliver the BFPA Level 1 Vocational Hydraulics Course. Congratulations, we ae looking forward to be working with Alan and the team at MD Engineering Fluid Power. Great to see the #BFPA strengthening its learning and development national footprint.

Over 40 delegates attended BFPA’s 2024 Economic Forecast Seminar on 9 October which was held at Warwick Conferences at the University of Warwick in Coventry. As usual, the main focus of the day was for Oxford Economics to provide members with an update of the world and UK economic outlook, before presenting their latest five-year forecast for the fluid power industry (2024-2028). Supporting guest speakers at this year’s event were from the University of Warwick WMG Centre, which is part of the UK’s HMV Catapult network.
