This week we had the pleasure of attending the Garden Centre Expo in London. Amy Stubbs took to the Keynote Theatre to discuss the future of garden retail through the eyes of the next generation. Ricky Towers spoke on the Panel Theatre Two stage, discussing restaurant operations and the growth of British Garden Centres' restaurant portfolio. It's so amazing to hear from so many great voices at these events. We can't wait for the next.

Well done to two of the BGC family as they participate in the Glee Talent Show at the NEC this week.   Steve Chase (Winnersh) and Annie Gundry (Playhatch) made it through to the final of the competition due to their unique and inspiring pop-up store concepts.   Steve worked with Catrin Jones from Fron Goch Garden Centre. His team, Azalea, focused on creating a pet-friendly garden space that encourages natural animal behaviour such as sniffing, foraging and exploring. The concept was inspired by customers asking about what was safe for pets in their gardens.   Annie worked in team Nemesia with Lucia Hopcraft of Stewarts Garden Centre. This urban oasis highlights the transformative power of houseplants and aims to inspire customers to bring nature into their city living spaces. It used immersive living displays, QR codes and YouTube videos to bring information to the younger customers.   Peter Burks of the Garden Centre Association crowned Team Nemesia the winners, with Azaela as the worthy runners-up.
