"Thrilled to be back this Autumn with the divine Willow Crossley and her brilliant take on the blanket coat. Willow pondered and then picked three new British woven blankets to make into her chic & unique jackets. I am particularly proud to make these entirely in England and to be collaborating with the talented Willow Crossley again! Run don’t walk!" Victoria Stapleton, Founder & Creative Director " I was amazed by the response last year to my collaboration with Brora and specifically the wool blanket jacket. It is always lovely to see people wearing the pieces, and I am so excited by the new colours; each has a different feel, but all are immensely wearable thanks to a neutral element that runs through the tartan." Fine Scottish Cashmere and Beautiful Clothing. A British fashion brand established in 1993 by Victoria Stapleton.
About us
Luxury Scottish cashmere and clothing for women, men, children and babies. Brora was established in 1993 to give classic Scottish cashmere a contemporary twist and create a collection in a range of unique colours. Today, none of that has changed. From the beginning Brora cashmere has been dyed and knitted by the same mill in Hawick in the Scottish Borders. It is the soft waters of the local river Teviot that are so crucial to the 'handle' of the finished product. With the finest cashmere fibre, manufacturing skills passed down through the generations and the special blend of unique colours, Brora cashmere has a superior quality that is hard to equal. To complement the cashmere collections, Brora also produces a seasonal range of distinctive clothing & accessories. We are very proud that the vast majority of Brora designs are still made in the UK and mainly in Scotland.

Each year, we team up with the University of Dundee Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design to offer students the chance to enter a competition to create a limited-edition woollen jumper. This year’s winner was Abbey McGovern, whose innovative approach and outstanding pattern development were unmatched. Abbey’s design was inspired by Scottish artist Sir Eduardo Luigi Paolozzi, who is widely considered one of the pioneers of Pop Art and known for his sculptures and graphic works. She also felt particularly inspired by his Italian heritage and how it represents Scotland’s broader, diverse cultural scene, which led to the rise of multi-generational, art-deco ice cream parlours. #brorafashion #design #studentdesign #fashion

✨Meet Frances our Senior Fashion Designer✨ What is your favourite piece from the AW24 collection? I’m loving the straw cords and the black split kilt. What do you love about designing for Brora? I love working with the mills and factories we have the pleasure of aligning ourselves with. Working with high quality cloth, especially wool woven in the UK that is steeped in British heritage. What has been your most memorable moment whilst working for Bora? The famous pink gingham blouse as worn by Kate, the Princess of Wales was an outstanding success and still a best seller to this day, three years on. What inspired your designs? This AW I took a lot of inspiration from 1940s tailoring to influence our collection of wool jackets and coats. #brorafashion #britishdesign #slowfashion #retail

✨Brora Portrait: Meet Lizzie David✨ A creative mender who specialises in visible mending, she takes on repair commissions, as well as running workshops to inspire other people to mend their clothing. With a love of colour, Lizzie takes inspiration from the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, treating repairs to clothing as part of a garments history and something to celebrate rather than disguise. What’s your background? I studied fine art and have always loved colour, textiles and fashion and I find visible mending is the perfect combination of things that I love. During lockdown I taught myself to darn and I enjoy the meditative repetition of mending by hand, the slow pace and the creativity of it.
