Fantastic two days at World Agri-Tech in London! Highlights include: 🚀 Rapid-fire pitching BugBiome alongside other amazing founders we met earlier this year in Canada—great to see the progress everyone is making! 🔥 The reverse panel session, where VCs were grilled by founders, was a super interesting twist. Lots to take away from that. 💡 Many innovative stands and technologies on display. It was a pleasure to meet lots of new people, as well as finally putting faces to names of many zoom intros. ✨ Kicked off the week at the 3rd New Integrated Pest Management Symposium in Swansea! I had the opportunity to present our work screening microbes for new bioinsecticides delving into the platform we have developed. We got to engage with top academics, industry experts, and agronomists to discuss advances in sustainable solutions in pest management. Cambridge-based start-up company BugBiome has set out to transform the pest control industry to try to address the various problems caused by current products using a much more sustainable approach based upon microbes. Today Millie Small presented a lightning talk on what we are working on at BugBiome at the Royal Entomological Society Aphid Special Interest Group meeting. Thanks to Joe Roberts and Tom Pope for convening. It was interesting to hear from many aphidologists on their current aphid research from painting crops to pull aphids away from crops, to the impact host plant genotype can have in Integrated Pest Management.
