Together Morrison Construction, Balfour Beatty plc, Robertson Group, Morgan Sindall Group plc, Kier Construction, Holmes Miller and BE-ST have collaborated on a paper which aims to explore the key challenges of meeting energy requirements and effective ways of addressing any challenges that do arise through improved collaboration. The paper also provides valuable insights and lessons learned from the design and construction of low carbon/low energy projects delivered in Scotland. Last, the paper identifies some key metrics as well as how best to integrate solutions to achieve these. While all project stakeholders can benefit from the paper, its intended audience is those with a significant focus on the procurement, design, and operational quality aspects of low energy/Passivhaus projects in Scotland. Get to know SISALWOOL™, a small but growing company passionate about creating a low carbon future by producing sustainable building insulation made from sisal and wool. It all started in the late 2000’s, when Managing Director John Ferguson was working in East Africa to upskill small scale farmers around climate change mitigation. During this time, he became aware of the unique and drought resistant fibre crop, sisal, a plant traditionally used to make ropes and sacks, often overlooked by many mainstream industries. This sparked an idea to improve upon traditional wool insulation, known for its softness by blending it with sisal fibre, a stiff and rigid fibre. Read the full story ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e-4JsZxd
