AI is trained on datasets laced with bias, says Global Strategic Business Director Andi Davids for The Drum. There are ways to address it, and we as creatives have a part to play. Shedding a light on this year's International Women's Day theme of 'Inspire Inclusion', Andi highlights the link between data and AI, namely how existing societal biases about women can be woven into the data AI learns from, turning it into an echo chamber which leads to skewed outputs and unfair representation as a result. We're all about harnessing the power of AI for good. However, as Andi relays, being mindful of the potential for AI to perpetuate societal biases is crucial considering, as creatives, we hold a significant responsibility for the work we produce and its impact on the world - ultimately contributing to shaping culture. Conscious creativity is key to responsible AI development. We need to be aware of these potential biases, diversify our teams and data sources, and constantly challenge the status quo.
