We’re excited to announce that Bupa Care Homes is beginning a 12-month partnership with Be Great Fitness, a community health and well-being company, founded by Bailey Greetham-Clark, dedicated to transforming elderly care through fitness. The collaboration will see a team of expert instructors deliver inclusive exercise and wellness sessions to residents in over 100 Bupa care homes across the country. Rebecca Pearson, General Manager of Bupa UK Care Services, said: “Bailey’s innovative approach is reshaping the way fitness is integrated into elderly care and together we’re making it possible for Bupa residents across the country to access top-quality exercise and wellness programmes.”

We’re proud to be working with others including University of Glasgow and Columbia University, as part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Health Systems Task Force, to help the next generation of healthcare professionals tackle climate change. Through a new initiative, the European Network on Climate and Health Education (ENCHE) which launched today at the World Health Summit, 25 leading European universities will equip over 10,000 medical students with the knowledge and insights to support the transition to patient-centric, net-zero health systems. Iñaki Ereño, Bupa Group CEO, said: “To deliver the best patient care in a changing climate, we must reimagine healthcare education to focus on prevention and resilience. We know first-hand the challenges and opportunities the climate crisis presents to our global network of healthcare professionals, who are providing care to over 20 million people a year. That's why we are committed to supporting the ENCHE, to equip the next generation of clinicians with the training to navigate and accelerate this important transition." Almost one in five of us are ignoring Optometrist prescriptions which spells a real problem when it comes to Aussies' health and wellbeing. Even more concerning is that that some people are unaware of what is covered under Medicare with 21 per cent saying they skip eye tests because of costs despite regular eye tests being fully covered. Bupa Optical & Hearing Director, Adrian Kemp said "it's concerning that some Australians may be needlessly going about their lives with vision impairments which may negatively impact their ability to be at their best at work, drive safely or learn to their full potential." "Amidst the current cost-of-living environment, it's vital people know that eye tests can be done quickly, can be bulk-billed for Medicare card holders and don't require a GP's referral."
