  • Burns Retail & Hospitality are looking forward to this evening's The Swansea Bay Business Awards, held at the beautiful Brangwyn Hall. We've been recognised as one of the top three businesses in two categories: ~ Retail Business of the Year ~ Green & Sustainable Business of the Year Burns Retail & Hospitality Ltd owns and runs five shops across the South Wales region, including Parc y Bocs Farm Shop & Cafe (based in Kidwelly), and pet shops in Cardiff, Carmarthen, Llandeilo, and Narberth. This recognition a reflection of our team’s hard work and dedication and to our commitment to the environment. Managing Director Leon Burns says: “As a relatively young, independent and family-run business we’re thrilled to have been recognised so highly by the Swansea Bay Business Award’s panel of judges. This is a wonderful reflection of the quality of our products, customer service, and the hard work of our staff. “We have always considered our environmental impact and have heavily invested in reducing our carbon footprint even more. We’ve adopted energy efficient construction methods, and along with renewable energy produced at our various properties we currently make a saving of around 40 tonnes of CO2 equivalent every year. The company employs its own Energy Consultant and we’re installing smart meters so that we can utilise dynamic and time-of-use electricity pricing to lower our environmental impact and electricity costs.” “We’re looking forward to the awards, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the judges, and to congratulate all of the finalists. We feel privileged to be counted amongst them.” Photograph: Managing Director Leon Burns outside the Burns Pet Wellness Centre, based at Parc Pensarn, Carmarthen.
