EV Charging Expansion in Cardiff! Partnering with Alun Griffiths Contracting Ltd and Connected Kerb, Burroughs helped deploy 366 EV charging points across ten local authorities in Cardiff. Our civil engineering team conducted thorough siting studies, ensuring safe traffic flow, spatial coordination, accessibility, and proximity to electrical supplies. This project, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, was funded by local authorities, an OZEV grant, and Connected Kerb. 🚧Active Travel Project in Bromsgrove! As part of the National Productivity Investment Fund, Worcestershire County Council worked on a fantastic array of upgrades to tackle congestion, enhance regional routes, and support new housing. In Bromsgrove, this included new walking and cycling routes that connect key areas like Hannover Street, Market Street, and Kidderminster Road. These upgrades were all part of a broader network designed to offer healthier, more sustainable travel options. Our team at Burroughs are proud to have designed these schemes in collaboration with Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd. We're providing civil and drainage design, integrating green infrastructure - new sustainable drainage systems for better placemaking and climate resilience. 🌱 Ongoing projects: Callaghan Square Junction, Penarth Road Junction, Roath Recreation Red Route, Cycleway 2 Newport Road, Cycleway 5 Leckwith Road, and Hailey Park. Exciting news from Burroughs! We’ve led the design and planning for the Hampton pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the River Avon in Evesham, working with Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd. 🌉 This project will enhance connectivity between Hampton and Evesham, aligning with the South Worcestershire Development Plan and the Evesham Transport Strategy. It offers a safer, direct route for pedestrians and cyclists, supporting the shift towards sustainable transport and active travel. With input from COWI, TACP, and Wallingford Hydro Solutions, our design focuses on both functionality and aesthetics. Surveys and public engagement have been integral to our approach. We’re thrilled to share that Burroughs played a key role in the award-winning Design & Build highway project for the Northern Access Road in St Athan, developed by Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd on behalf of the Welsh Government. 🚧 This project, which supports the St Athan Aerospace Business Park's growth and future investments like the Aston Martin Manufacturing Facility, included two roundabout junctions, a four-way traffic-controlled junction, NMU interfaces, and complex drainage and flood modelling, all within tight deadlines. We led the design process and coordinated with the broader team and stakeholders.
