Teammateship. Have you ever come across this word or theme before? Compared with leadership, a term we all know well, teammateship doesn't quite flow off the tongue as easily. Yet, it is a vital part of what makes us good people, workers, and family members. What makes us human. Leadership is often associated with individuals and their own will to succeed. Teammateship, in contrast, focuses on the value of team members, appreciating the skills and contributions of other people. Winning together rather than alone. Teammateship focuses on a switch in mindset, to consider how you create value for your team, not just for yourself. Team building leads to enhanced feelings of trust between co-workers. Trust is the glue at the centre of teammateship. To get the best team results, trust in each other must be as high as possible. We have to be able to recognise the core differences between the roles of managers and leaders. Managers and leaders have very different approaches to achieving organisational goals. This is despite the clear overlap between the respective roles. Managers have the responsibility for organising people, planning strategies, and controlling resources. They are responsible for supporting people within their team, and owning departmental processes. Managers ensure team operations run as efficiently as possible. Leaders operate in a different way. Their main responsibility is to win the 'hearts and minds' of their people. To motivate and inspire others to work towards a common goal or cause. They also spend time building strong relationships throughout their organisation at all-levels, helping to nurture an environment of trust, respect, and collaboration. Leaders work hard to get people to buy-in to their values, goals, and ethos. Empowering a working environment where everybody can share ideas and communicate with confidence. Is your organisation following a roadmap to success? 🤔 Organisations often rush the strategic planning process. Some companies even completely ignore devising a joined-up strategy. Too often leaders presume that their team knows what they are doing, only to appear surprised when events, presentations, projects, or meetings fall apart. Structure and having a routine can feel like a safety net. Top-down communication from leadership helps everyone, setting out a clear direction for an organisation, while ensuring everyone is on the same path to success. One of the best approaches to help with direction at the start of any new journey is a roadmap. A roadmap is a strategic planning tool, providing a clear and structured pathway to achieving professional goals. It serves as a visual representation of your objectives, guiding you through the steps necessary for success. Whether you are an individual contributor, or part of a larger team, having a roadmap enhances your work effectiveness. It also helps you to stay focused on priorities. Sometimes our goals can appear to be overwhelming. A roadmap enables us the opportunity to break goals down. It is important to note that a roadmap is not a one-off piece of work. Monitoring progress at regular intervals is crucial. A roadmap allows the opportunity to track how you’re doing against your plan. Should unforeseen events occur, or you fall behind, you can take corrective action. Does your organisation use a roadmap? Smaller organisations deserve access to an LMS too! But often the cost per person is too high to justify investment. 🚀 This is why we have launched our affordable ready-made LMS at a fraction of the cost to even up the playing field: https://buff.ly/3W7Wx5H ✅ Deliver compliance training and soft skills development at scale with access to over 1,000 engaging e-learning modules. ✅ Licences are available on a per-person and per month basis, meaning you only ever pay for what you need, when you need it. The platform is suitable for organisations with 5 to 500K people. ✅ Branded, flexible and allows you to take complete control to devise personalised training programmes for your employees (or sit back and rely on AI recommendations). Without access to an LMS, smaller organisations can struggle to provide training and development opportunities to their employees. This can lead to poorer motivation levels, decreased productivity, and higher employee turnover. Bridge the skills gap today. #LMS #Moodle #HR #SMEs #training #development

As leaders, the temptation is to maintain complete control at all times. To do everything ourselves. To oversee every meeting, detail, decision, and task. After all, who better to trust than ourselves? 'If you need a job doing, do it yourself', as the famous phrase goes. We know our own standards and we can trust in ourselves to deliver each time. So, letting go of that control, as a leader, can feel very difficult. To delegate your tasks to colleagues, or other members of your team. But managers and leaders who have the confidence to delegate can reap the rewards. Delegation lightens your workload, freeing you up to focus on more pressing priorities. It can also contribute towards improving your workplace wellbeing, while reducing stress. Delegation can also help to foster a culture of trust within an organisation, strengthening team dynamics. By delegating tasks, a larger range of skills are generated and shared within teams, enabling individuals to grow in skills and responsibilities within their roles. This helps them to develop their careers, while retaining their talent in the long-term. Get more free insights on BusinessBalls: https://buff.ly/2KyQWCD #leadership #management #delegation

Our time, as a leader, is one of our most precious commodities. It's common to feel pressed for time, especially when multi-tasking in the workplace. Prioritising our daily tasks can be the perfect starting point to boosting productivity. Try breaking tasks down into a list, focusing on the tasks that can make the biggest difference. Sometimes, we can have so much to do we lose our focus, forgetting our long-term goals and priorities. We can dedicate hours to tasks which have minor impact on achieving these goals. Delegation of tasks is also important when it comes to time management. Our instinct, as leaders, is to always remain in control. Oversee every process. But delegating tasks within your team or organisation can free you up to focus on the big-ticket items. Handing extra responsibilities to your team members can also help them to grow in their roles, increasing their confidence, while building trust and stronger team dynamics. What tools or techniques do you use to manage your time in the workplace? We have a range of free resources on BusinessBalls, including 'The 4 D's of Time Management': https://buff.ly/4cmnMi3 #Leadership #Managment #timemanagement #productivity
