As many of you may know, this week marks Women in Construction Week. At BW: Workplace Experts project One Basinghall, we’ve embraced this opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible women in our industry and engage everyone on site in meaningful conversations about gender diversity in construction. Day 1, We focused on highlighting the women working on our project and encouraging operatives to discuss the wide range of roles available in construction. The goal was to spark conversations about the pathways into the industry and inspire anyone who is interested in starting a career in construction. Day 2, We invited women from outside our team to Basinghall for a site tour and lunch. During this time, we shared our personal experiences within the industry. Since we each work in different sectors, it was a valuable chance to exchange insights about our day-to-day roles and about our own stories within construction. Day 3, The site team wore pink laces to proudly show our support and raise awareness for Women in Construction. Day 4, Featured an inspiring talk by Jacqueline Mars who shared her own journey as a woman in construction. Her story started meaningful discussions about the importance of respecting women in a male-dominated industry and the need to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all. Day 5, Some of our team members joined the "Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering" webinar, where we learned about the efforts companies are making to build safer, more inclusive workplaces in the construction sector.
