About us
BETTER SOLUTIONS, INTELLIGENTLY ENGINEERED Harnessing the expertise and creativity of our people to create a better, more sustainable world. Ours is a world on the move. Ambitious people are unleashing developing economies, smart technologies are opening the door to new opportunities. The old ways of designing and delivering buildings, communities and the infrastructure that connects them are being rapidly overtaken by the demand for better, faster, cheaper solutions. While you can’t buy certainty, you can invest in experience – the kind of experience which views digitally-enabled technology as a better route to robust, reliable delivery. At BWB Consulting, we see these technologies opening up new horizons in the Built and Natural Environments and in Transport and Infrastructure: intelligent tools which enable us to confront challenges and drive improved performance. Trusted to deliver on behalf of Blue Chip clients and major public bodies, BWB’s award-winning team blends seasoned experience of solid delivery with the eternal fascination of enthusiastic engineers – people empowered by the potential of digital engineering, willing to challenge convention, but focused relentlessly on how they can deliver increasingly effective results for Clients and Stakeholders. Our willingness to embrace change while staying focused on Client need has made us both a Trusted Partner and an Employer of Choice: an agile organisation excited by the ways in which Big Data, Smart Connectivity and Intelligent Design can be applied to the Built and Natural Environments, and to Transport and Infrastructure, to meet the rising expectations of our restless, urbanising world. Collaborative, committed and commercially-minded, BWB’s focus is clear: attract the best creative talent, deploy the best technology, develop the best relationships and deliver the best results – always with the Client in mind.

NATIONAL BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION AWARDS NIGHT 🏆 We're thrilled to announce that we'll be attending the National Building & Construction Awards tonight, where our collaboration with West Northamptonshire Council and Studio Egret West has been shortlisted for the Crannull Community Engagement Award for the Greyfriars project! Greyfriars, a 15-acre site in the heart of Northampton, has been derelict since 2015, splitting the town centre. The goal: to revitalise Northampton, balancing its rich history with future needs. Deetu, our sister company, created a bespoke website, https://lnkd.in/epteE3MU, which was central to the approach, complemented by in-person events and a freephone consultation line to ensure inclusivity. This project represents our ability to utilise technology and deliver impactful community-centred solutions. We're proud to be recognised for the work we've achieved together. A big thank you to the team and everyone involved – we're excited to celebrate the evening and see what's in store! 🎉

“The healthiest places have spontaneous play engrained in their public spaces” Inspired by one too many episodes of Race Across the World, Joshua Dickerson takes a whirlwind tour of play spaces across Europe and finds open-ended, non-structured play spaces in lieu of fenced-off playgrounds With the excuse of reaching a friend in Aarhus, this summer my partner and I embarked on a whirlwind tour that involved more modes of transport than you can shake a pastry at. What I didn’t tell her was that our summer “holiday” would also be a geography study tour of placemaking projects in Brussels, Cologne, Hamburg, Copenhagen and Aalborg. BIODIVERSITY NET GAIN: A STEP TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Leonard Design and igloo Regeneration for an insightful discussion on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) - a pivitol shift in how we approach development and environmental stewardship. Led by our expert Sarah Stone we discussed how BNG has become a key factor in development, how it introduces complexity to planning and compliance; requiring developers to navigate new regulations and invest in biodiversity assessments. While this may pose challenges, it also encourages sustainable practices that can enhance our communities and the environment. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with both new and familiar faces, share lunch, and exchange ideas on how we can continue to work together to create places for everyone, and preserve our planet for all.We are already excited about the next steps in these conversations and the positive impact we can make together! Last week, Deetu and BWB joined Duncan Paybody of Studio Egret West for a site tour of Mayfield Park in Manchester! SEW led the design and delivery of Mayfield, Manchester's first new park in over 100 years and a prime example of healthy placemaking in action. Duncan kindly took the team on an engaging tour of this space, providing a deep dive on many of the planting and design choices which celebrate Manchester's diverse and industrial history. Deetu have recently worked alongside SEW running the public consultations for Greyfriars in Northampton and Holt Town in Manchester.
