A couple weeks ago, 22 network leaders met for the third Innovation Network of Networks workshops! The day saw insightful presentations from: - David Legg of Innovate UK - Claire Snowdon MCIEx of Department for Business and Trade - Simone Hartless of Satellite Applications Catapult - James Cushing with a talk on Non Urban Innovation Places There was also an interactive workshop session à la 1-to-1 speed dating between the heads of the networks. This workshop yielded some great connections and gave the networks a much clearer next step. Thank you to Pim van Baarsen, CEO of Silverstone Technology Cluster for hosting! The vision for the Innovation Network of Networks is to build innovation and collaboration within the region by boosting the capacity, connectedness, and strength of its networks, through a series of events bringing together the leads of innovation networks across the Oxford to Cambridge region. The BloombergNEF London 2024 Summit was an amazing gathering of industry leaders in the cleantech and energy space. CEO Sam Goodall and COO Sylvie Russell participated in this invitation-only event to represent Cambridge Cleantech members and to promote Europe's emerging powerhouse climatetech ecosystem, the Climate Tech SuperCluster. Sam also attended a roundtable on net zero frameworks for policymakers, he said: "Really interesting roundtable on the long term implications of the ubiquitous deployment of solar and the risk revenue cannibalisation. There is a need, therefore, to develop more system integrated solutions that include storage and flexibility services within their business models."

Thank you to Satyajit Mohanan for representing us, Spain are making some great progress towards their climate goals!
Last week I had the pleasure of representing Cambridge Cleantech at a reception at the Spanish ambassador’s residence in London, celebrating Spain’s National Day. It was fantastic to hear from Spain’s Vice President Yolanda Díaz and the UK’s Secretary of State for Transport Lou Haigh. Building on our collaboration with the Spanish government through Programa Desafía London, a two-week program helping Spanish climate tech startups explore the UK ecosystem, it was great to hear about Spain’s climate goals and the progress they’re making. Thank you to H.E. José Pascual Marco for hosting and to Jorge Postigo for the invite! And always a treat bumping into a familiar face—Montserrat Vallet Buisan Oh, and a travel tip straight from the source: if you’re planning to visit Spain, don’t forget to explore the North! It’s a hidden gem that doesn’t get nearly enough attention. Camila Vila-Echague Sam Goodall Sylvie Russell Reiss Mason Cambridge Cleantech #SpainNationalDay #ClimateTech #SpainUK #Sustainability
