Quantum is a significant future threat to the security of critical infrastructure, and energy grids are prime targets. Together with the UK’s National Energy System Operator (NESO) and The University of Edinburgh we’re creating an innovative risk management tool to help IT and security teams assess and mitigate against the quantum threat to the energy network. We’re delighted to announce that the joint innovation project, ‘Network Security in a Quantum Future’ has been awarded funding by UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) to progress to Alpha phase development. The project is funded through the Strategic Innovation Fund, an Ofgem programme managed in partnership with Innovate UK. Widespread adoption of UAS and AAM face the same early challenges as Tesla – lack of infrastructure. Like Tesla's establishment of Supercharging networks, the first regions and companies to create advanced aviation infrastructure could secure their positions as long-term leaders in the industry. Next week at the New England UAS and AAM Summit Taylor Pearlman will be moderating a panel discussing the challenges, the long-term benefits and the partnerships, investments, and developments that will be necessary. The panelists include: 🎤 Roger Evans - Archer 🎤 Addison Ferrell - Skyports Infrastructure 🎤 Jenn Player - Skydio 🎤 Nate Ward - BETA TECHNOLOGIES Join us at the Volpe Center in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA from the 29th. We were honoured to host a delegation of guests from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) along with a group of Japan’s leaders in #biomanufacturing and green transformation, including Prof. Akihiko Kondo. CC’s CTO Martin Brock welcomed the 14-strong delegation to our Cambridge U.K. headquarters for a company introduction and tour of our laboratories and facilities. During the 2-day engagement the delegation saw first hand how we are exploiting Deep Tech to drive progress in multiple fields, while addressing some of society’s most pressing challenges. The delegation also discovered more about CC’s pivotal role in the Cambridge Tech Ecosystem. We hope these learnings will be valuable for the development of similar centres of innovation in Japan. #deeptech, #sustainability, #climatetech, #medtechinnovation, #medtech, #innovation, #startup, #Japan, #engineeringbiology #greentransformation #CambridgeEcosystem Simon Karger, Frances Metcalfe, Ian Taylor, Will Addison, Catherine Joce CEnv, Iain Smith, Daniel Churchill, Steve Thomas, Takuya Matsui, Rupert Thomas, Chris Roberts, Miles Upton

📻 We’re delighted to share Tim Whittaker’s news of CC #greentech in action – and proud to have collaborated with CML Micro and Gospell Digital Technology Co., Ltd. to develop a portable low-power Digital Radio Mondiale radio that’s the lowest-cost receiver on the market. Thanks to this ground breaker, millions of listeners in previously unconnected communities will at last have access to a world of information through DRM. As showcased at #IBC2024, the potential for global connectivity to bridge the digital divide has never been more promising. We’re pleased to play our part. #deeptech #radio #digitalradio #audio #connectivity #broadcast #digital #telecommunications Digital Radio Mondiale by CML Micro
It was great to see Digital Radio Mondiale take a big step forward in adoption at the IBC Show, with many cost-effective receivers now in full production. DRM is technology designed to deliver high-quality audio and digital services to the 3 billion of us who aren’t yet internet connected. It’s massively more energy efficient than internet terminals and infrastructure. And because it uses radio spectrum reclaimed from legacy broadcast services, small numbers of transmitters can cover huge land areas and populations. Cambridge Consultants is proud to have partnered with CML Micro and Gospell Digital Technology Co., Ltd. in the development of the lowest-cost receiver on the market. Green Tech is an important part of the work we do, and the chance to help people less fortunate than ourselves has also been a great motivator for our team! The revolution in digital radio has begun, and the potential for global connectivity to bridge the digital divide has never been more promising. Now, the call is for others to seize this golden opportunity to create affordable, accessible DRM receivers and contribute to the development of a truly accessible broadcasting service.
