🏆 Empowering Youth Through Football: Cambridge United Foundation’s Premier League Kicks Project ⚽ At Cambridge United Foundation, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for young people in our community. Through The Premier League Kicks project, we offer free access to football and physical activities for those who may not have the chance otherwise. 🌟 Every week, our dedicated coaches work in some of the most deprived areas of the city, providing a safe space for young people to stay active and engaged while out of school. But we go beyond just football—our mission is to have a lasting, positive impact on their lives. Once we've built trust and positive relationships, we run life-changing workshops covering crucial topics like environmental issues, knife crime, and employability skills. Last year, our participants gained valuable knowledge that will serve them for years to come, and we’re excited to expand these programs even further this year! 💪 Collaboration is key to our success, and we’re proud to work closely with local youth groups like Abbey People and Romsey Mill to ensure the young people in our community receive the support they need all week long. 🎉 One of our proudest moments this year was taking a team of young girls to compete in the Premier League National Kicks Cup at St George’s Park—an experience they’ll never forget! 🚀 The Raspberry Pi Foundation has taken our STEM workshops to the next level at Cambridge United Foundation’s Active Science day at the Cledara Abbey Stadium and during our HAF camp! By partnering with the Raspberry Pi Foundation, we've been able to offer our beneficiaries truly unique and exciting experiences that they wouldn't usually get to try. This summer, the children got hands-on with technology by learning about velocity in a fun and interactive way—embedding microchips in footballs, coding them to laptops, and seeing just how hard they could kick! ⚽️💻 It's been incredible to see the kids' faces light up as they discover the power of science and technology. 🌟 Over the first two weeks of summer, the Cambridge United Foundation (CUF) has been proudly running our Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Camp—a vital program we host every Summer, Winter, and Easter break. Our camp is completely free for primary school children who receive free school meals. We recognize that school holidays can be a challenging time for these pupils. They are less likely to engage in organised activities, more prone to 'unhealthy holidays' with limited access to nutritious meals, and often face social isolation. That's why our dedicated CUF coaches have put together an engaging timetable filled with sports, crafts, and workshops, ensuring that every child stays active, well-nourished, and connected. We also provide snacks and lunches to support their physical health and well-being. A massive thanks to Cambridgeshire County Council for their ongoing support in making this possible!
