At our office in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, we recently organised an inspiration and networking event focusing on Career Journeys & Gender Diversity. The event highlighted the importance of gender diversity in the workplace and explored the impact of gender on career paths. According to the 2024 Women in the Workplace research by McKinsey & Company, women make up 29% of C-Suite positions. While the number has notably improved over time, it still indicates that there is room for improvement. These insights stress the significance of fostering a work environment where both men and women can follow their passions and advance their careers. During the session, four panelists shared insights into how they accomplished career development within Canon. They also offered practical advice on how to increase personal visibility in the job market, boost self-confidence and navigate career transitions. Following a highly interactive session, an informal networking opportunity offered attendees time to continue the conversation. A huge thank you to all the panelists, attendees, and organisers for a great event and a fruitful discussion!
