Last week, we had a fantastic opportunity to give back to our community through our recent volunteering day at SPADEWORK LIMITED in Offham, Kent. Spadework is a charity organisation dedicated to providing training and employment opportunities for individuals with special needs and learning difficulties. By playing an active part in the community, trainees are enabled to be more independent, have an increased sense of self-worth and purpose, experience less isolation, and live happier and healthier lives. Members of our Account Management and Corporate Services team took on the project of: ✦ Identifying rotten or rotting pumpkins from the garden that needed to be removed and recycled. ✦ Pulling pumpkins from the delivery boxes and transporting them to the pumpkin patch, ensuring they are presented well and ready for the customers to 'pick'. ✦ Transporting, placing and raking new woodchips to create dry walkways for customers at the pumpkin patch due to heavy rainfall. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to play a part in enhancing these spaces, knowing they would support Spadework and their customers to enjoy this time of year, as well as support Spadework to earn well-needed funds to continue performing their fantastic community work. We’re very grateful to Jeff and the Spadework team for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of your meaningful work. In our second year supporting Spadework through volunteering, we're left feeling inspired, hopeful, and determined to support this amazing cause again in the future.
