As part of this process, the weekend prior to the 29th is being used to migrate the many millions of records to the new platform. WHAT WILL THIS MEAN? Capulus Limited will be unable to submit any mid-term adjustments to the Motor Insurance Database (MID) whilst the MID is closed. We ask that MID records are as up to date as possible, and any mid-term adjustments taking place between Friday 26th – Monday 29th April are notified to us on or before 25th April to ensure adequate cover is in place ahead of the disruption. In celebration of Capulus’ sixth birthday today, here are six things that you may not know about us: 1️⃣ Capulus translates to ‘coffee’ in Latin. The inspiration for this dates back to 1686, when Edward Lloyd opened his coffee house in Tower Street, which evolved into the insurance industry as we know it today. 2️⃣ Since incorporating in March 2018, we have written over £200 million in insurance premiums. 3️⃣ Having initially focused on hauliers, couriers and self-drive hire operators, we added coach, minibus and general commercial fleet policies in January 2023. 4️⃣ We are backed by A+ rated capacity partners, Alwyn Insurance Company Limited, part of the Arch Capital Group. 5️⃣ Having started with just seven people, the business now employs over forty staff between its underwriting and claims offices. 6️⃣ Capulus is completely independent, allowing us to always choose the best option for our customers. We couldn’t have achieved this without the dedication and hard work of our fantastic team and the unwavering support of our brokers, clients and friends.
