Two weeks left to apply to our accelerator the Venture Launchpad ⏱ We're looking for startups working in climatetech, or the Net Zero transition, which avoid or remove GHG emissions, or which tackle other challenges for Earth's life support systems, e.g. biodiversity. https://lnkd.in/e8-5cjmd Eligible startups are: Teams of 2+ founders 👩🔧 👨🔧 UK registered company or intending to, asap. Have not raised equity funding yet (or only a small amount) 💰 Software or deeptech, hardtech, science-based 🔬 And why join the Venture Launchpad? 1. Impact 2. Investability 3. Traction Let's break that down. *Impact* Carbon13's the Venture Builder for the climate emergency. With us you'll understand and maximise your value proposition's potential to reduce emissions - and communicate this to investors, stakeholders and customers. We have the expertise, the tools and the resources to make sure your startup makes a world changing impact. We don't work on anything less. *Investability* There's an investment opportunity on the accelerator of £200,000 (non-SEIS), but whether we invest or not, our aim is to make your startup investment ready. Pitches, strategies, proof points, data rooms, and confidence. We've invested in 72 startups since 2021, now collectively worth £190 million. *Traction* What does traction mean for your startup specifically. What's your commercial roadmap, what's your technical roadmap. At pre-seed you have tonnes more questions than answers for where to progress your product, our ecosystem becomes your brains trust to solve just that. Our ecosystem of hundreds of domain experts, investor partners, and your own entrepreneur in residence, drawn from a diverse pool of exited founders. Congratulations to Bluemethane on their Innovate UK and DEFRA grant 👏 Some stats for you: Bluemethane can capture methane from water and waste water and while methane is - 34 times more potent at capturing heat than CO2 - accounts for half of global warming to date And methane from water is - 6% of anthropogenic methane emissions - which rivals the oil and gas industry's emissions Finance for methane emissions reduction accounts for less than 2% of international climate finance. This makes Bluemethane's grant even more valuable and crucial.

We are thrilled to share that Bluemethane and Cranfield University have been awarded the Innovate UK and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Environmental Monitoring Innovation grant. This incredible £419,000 grant marks a huge step forward for our work and collaboration with Cranfield University.   This award will be used to develop the first-ever system to accurately measure methane in complex waste streams, a groundbreaking innovation in environmental monitoring. By accurately measuring methane production, we open the door to more effective mitigation strategies, helping to combat climate change at its source.   #InnovationJourney #MethaneMitigation #Methane Louise, Nestor, Adam, Nicky, Michael, Judith, Tom, Tom, Tony, Amanda, Lisa, Kieran, Ben, Timothy, Phil, Chris, Peter, Bruce

Just love this heartfelt message from Ranjeet Bhalerao this morning, "Dedicating my life to making real estate more sustainable, such that buildings are not just buildings but beings that are actually beneficial for people, business and the planet". This is the energy our founders bring to the Net Zero transition.

Scaling real estate decarbonisation | MapMortar

Since moving to London in 2014, running through Regent’s Park and taking a short break at the top of Primrose Hill has been a routine. The amazing view and the surroundings really inspire me, help me calm down and refocus. And every time I look at this city, it screams opportunity for me, to make an impact by making real estate sustainable; sustainable such that buildings are not just buildings but beings that benefit people and the planet. Infact Primrose Hill was where the fledgling idea behind MapMortar came about and then it was only a matter of meeting Josephine Bromley and Ruggiero Guida. So, I'll keep visiting Primrose Hill for inspiration, reminding myself how much work lies ahead in fighting climate change and securing the future for upcoming generations. #retrofit #decarbonisation #realestate #sustainabilty #netzero2050
