Experienced FAMILY CONTACT SUPERVISORS Please send us your up-to-date CV to: info@carefirst.biz Care First Recruitment are currently recruiting for Family Contact Supervisors for various London Boroughs The Contact Supervisor will need to provide supervised contact between children and their parents and/or other relatives where court orders or other circumstances make this necessary. Locations – Brent, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Brent, Westminster for those contact taking place at family centres, and a wider area across London for Community Contacts. Description: * To undertake supervised contact for children who are in the care of the local authority, adopted or on a special guardianship order * To objectively observe contact and monitor closely interactions, assessing parenting and the quality of care during contact * To manage a caseload and ensure that client confidentiality is maintained (in accordance with procedures) at all times * To intervene and act in accordance with safeguarding procedures within your centre * To manage difficult situations, minimising conflict in order to alleviate tension and provide a calm environment for contact * To attend court to give evidence as required * Facilitate contact between guardian & family/child at contact in line with court direction * Support children and young people to manage expectations of contact * Guide children and young people on how to interact, play and develop * Write comprehensive reports on each contact * Attend staff meetings or team meetings if required Essentials: * Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in working with children or caring for children within a statutory setting/contact centre * Experience in child-centred work with specific knowledge/and or experience in fostering, adoption, teaching or family/ contact work * Experience of writing accurate, informative, clear, concise and timely recordings following the observations undertaken between children and families during contact sessions * Experience of safeguarding and risk assessing * Maintain accurate records and reports on pieces of work carried out ensuring client confidentiality * Qualification within the social care sector preferred All applicants must have a right to work in the UK, satisfactory references for the immediate 5 years and an Enhanced DBS.
