Regulating and improving care and social work in Scotland.
About us
We independently regulate care services for people of all ages in Scotland. We register, inspect and grade services, deal with complaints, carry out enforcement action where necessary and help services improve. We also inspect all Scottish local authority social work services, including criminal justice social work. We carry out joint inspections too, with colleagues from other organisations such as police, health boards and education, to check how successful services are at working together to deliver the best support for adults and children. We inspect the quality of care, promote best practice, identify ways that services can improve and support innovation. In everything we do, our aim is to improve people’s experience of care, focusing on what can improve their lives and not simply on the services provided to them.

We tested our approach to validating adult care service’s self-evaluation of the core assurances in our inspections during July, August and September. If your service has been part of these test inspections, we would like to hear more about your experience and how you found our approach to validating your self-evaluation. You can provide your feedback using our survey https://lnkd.in/gqTgbNKg Please note, you should only complete this survey if your service has been inspected between July and September 2024 and your inspector has discussed self-evaluation of the core assurances with you.
