Carers Trust is the UK charity working to transform the lives of unpaid carers across the UK.
About us
Carers Trust works to transform the lives of unpaid carers across the UK. We partner with our network of local carer organisations across the UK to provide funding and support, deliver innovative and evidence-based programmes and raise awareness & influence policy. Our vision is that unpaid carers are heard and valued, with access to support, advice and resources to enable them to live fulfilled lives. We do this with a UK wide network of quality assured independent partners and through the provision of grants to help carers get the extra help they need to live their own lives. With locally based Network Partners we are able to support carers in their homes through the provision of replacement care, and in the community with information, advice, emotional support, hands on practical help and access to much needed breaks. We offer specialist services for carers of people of all ages and conditions and a range of individually tailored support and group activities. Our vision is that unpaid carers count and can access the help they need to live their lives. Website: www.carers.org

Thank you to Ed Davey in #PMQs for saying we need a far wider review of Carer's Allowance and its many flaws, not just overpayments. "We can write off the overpayments, we can end the crazy cliff edge to the earnings limit now and have a fuller review for the support that carers deserve"

The Government is reviewing Carer's Allowance overpayments. BUT the whole system needs a complete overhaul! Carer's Allowance is failing carers! Honest mistakes lead to huge fines and the £81.90 per week benefit is insultingly low. Carers deserve better! Find out more in our statement:
Government must go further with review of Carer's Allowance overpayments and overhaul the whole archaic system, Carers Trust says
