So good to see Prince William on ITV these last 2 days and showcasing the wonderful work at Homewards. He is absolutely the right person to spearhead this programme and comes accross with genuine sincerity. Just wish he and the organisers had collaborated a bit more with the biggest providers of possible existing move on accommodation, we the social housing landlords who have been bridging the gap with the lack of council housing for the last 30 years. With over 100,000 families in Temporary Accommodation and nearly £2billion being spent per annum. 5 years is a very ambitious project target for #homewards and #HRHPrinceWilliam and can only be achieved by partnering and joint working with the big developers and social housing landlords. We’re pleased to announce that Prince William: We Can End Homelessness will be available to stream on Disney Plus. The two-part documentary follows the first year of #Homewards- a five-year programme founded by The Prince and The Royal Foundation which aims to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness. Airing in the UK on ITV and ITVX on the 30th and 31st of October at 9pm, the documentary will also now be available to stream globally from the 1st of November on #DisneyPlus. Homewards Advocate, Dr Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, recently spoke to Good Morning America to give a preview of the documentary and why she wanted to be a part of Homewards. We hope you got you attention! That's a lot of money, right?! ⚠️ But not in a good way. New analysis reveals that London boroughs collectively spent £114m every month on average – or £4m daily – on temporary accommodation for homeless Londoners in the last financial year. This isn't the fault of local councils. They are doing their best, struggling to support skyrocketing numbers of homeless households, forced to house homeless families in expensive B&Bs due to lack of other suitable accommodation in the capital. This is a broken system. ❌ Costly for councils, placing them under severe financial strain, and truly devasting for the families forced to live without a place to call home.
