Whilst I was in Dublin last week, to speak on a panel at the EDGE Gaming Expo, I got the opportunity to sit down with Šimon Vincze from Casino Guru to chat about a wide array of topics including: - my background in teaching; - how I got into gambling; - the challenges of dispute mediation; - how ADR works in the gambling sector; - how I ended-up working for CasinoReviews.com; - how BetBlocker came to be. It was great fun. The time absolutely flew by. Honestly, I think we could have kept going for another 2 hours without struggling. And we grabbed a Guinness in the pub afterwards. What a great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon!

📢Our Head of Sustainable & Safer Gambling, Šimon Vincze, couldn't miss EDGE Europe's Gaming Expo event in Dublin, Ireland. The first year of this conference had a unique format. It was held together with a poker tournament, bringing together people from the industry with players themselves. ⭐Šimon spoke on a panel about gambling as an entertainment vs addiction in gambling. Yesterday was another cracking day here at EDGE Gaming Expo! Again some really interesting topics but my favourites were: Understanding Blockchain and Its Applications in Banking for the iGaming and Gambling industries led by Samee Bhatti, Co-Founder of Zebra Solutions and Viktoria Soltesz, CEO at PSP Angels; this conversation discussed the risks and challenges that are faced by the traditional financial system with the introduction of Blockchain technology and Crypto payments. This is a space definitely worth watching. Pleasure & pain: The debate over gambling as a form of entertainment VS. addiction led by David Richardson, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Better Change (Gibraltar) Ltd, Duncan Garvie, Trustee and Founder of BetBlocker and Šimon Vincze, Head of Sustainable & Safer Gambling at Casino Guru; the discussions around this topic were so refreshing, but I would say that instead of focusing on the end result and the point of no return, operators and regulators alike should be focusing on what we want to achieve, which is ensure players have fun and are entertained so that they do not end up in dire situations. Betting on equality: addressing and fighting sexism in the gambling industry with Lorena Castanho Antunes, Irish Poker Tour Marketing Coordinator, Will Shillibier PokerNews Managing Editor and Tanya Masters Irish Poker Tour Ambassador. This topic was specifically close to my heart, being a woman in the poker industry. Yes we have come a long way, but there is so much more that needs to be done, starting from the top! Law And Disorder: Navigating Controversial Gambling Regulations In The Legal Labyrinth with Dario Evangelista, Deputy General at Betsson Group, Kirsty Caldwell, Founder and CEO at Betsmart Consulting and Michael Byrne Department of Trust COO; I genuinely never thought legalities and regulation could have been so interesting, it was a true pleasure to hear about the challenges and solutions that are being tackled in the industry and how important it is for all of us to pay attention and help be a part of the solution rather than the problem And again last but not least the Rise of the machines: Can Human Players Survive the AI Bot Invasion? Led by WPT Global CEO Alex Scott, Head of iGaming Product at Sumsub Kris Galloway and Gaming Industry Pioneer Jonathan Raab; this was absolutely my very favourite panel of the day; poker has and always has been a game of skill between "humans" not machines, operators should be investing massively into their Game Security Teams and making sure that the integrity of our beloved game is not jeopardised. Thank you all for shining a light on this very very important topic. I can't wait to see what Day 3 and Final day of EDGE Gaming Expo holds!
