About us

The Commonwealth Business Women’s Network was pioneered by the Charter of the Commonwealth (2013), signed by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth ll, Head of the Commonwealth on Commonwealth Day 2013 and endorsed by the Commonwealth Heads of Government CHOGM. The Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network (CBWN) is the only accredited organisation focused on women’s economic empowerment and recognized by 54 governments. CBWN is operated by a local Executive Team supported by a local Advisory Board under the advice and leadership of the Senior Management Team and the International Advisory Board of the CBWN organisation. Collectively, we bring together a diverse range of experience and insights working with women to encourage and enable women and girls their economic empowerment and leadership potential. Our vision is to eliminate inequalities across the Commonwealth creating an inclusive Commonwealth where every woman and girl has a voice, choice, and independence to create. At the heart of what we do is harnessing the power and potential of women in business from Commonwealth countries. We are breaking down gender barriers. We are change agents committed to gender equality and systemic change. CBWN is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) in the United Kingdom, funded and powered by women, for women, of the Commonwealth. CBWN is operated by an Executive Team supported by an International Advisory Board, CBWN Platform Founders’ Circle and Ground Partners. Together, we bring a diverse range of experience and insights working with women to encourage and enable women and girls economic empowerment and leadership potential.

  • Around the globe, more and more women are taking their careers in their own hands by launching a business. Women represent one of the fastest growing segments of the entrepreneurship population worldwide.

Yet, despite women entrepreneurs’ progress, they still face roadblocks along the way that limit their business’s growth.

As a result, women often experience difficulties in obtaining funding from banks, private investors, and even from family and friends. In an effort to support women entrepreneurs, EIX.org and familybusiness.org offer articles that explore these challenges with research-based best practices and advice to bolster their success. The adoption and development of such technologies shows no sign of slowing. The CLA’s Public and Administrative Law Committee invite you to join them for a webinar to examine “The future of Artificial Intelligence and Automated Decision-Making in Public Law Decision-Making”.
