📣CDP’s Non-Disclosure Campaign offers a powerful mechanism for financial institutions to intensify their ask for company disclosures. This year, 276 financial institutions joined our NDC campaign, urging nearly 2,000 companies to disclose through CDP. 💧The investor demand for climate data on corporate water risks more than doubled this year, showing that financial institutions are growing aware of the data gap and are increasingly seeking to understand their exposure to water-related risks. CDP's corporate questionnaire is now aligned with IFRS 2, ISSB’s climate standard, as the foundational baseline for CDP’s climate disclosure. Here, Sue Lloyd, Vice Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) talks about why this is such a critical step to support companies on their path to ISSB compliance. "If you're ready to fill out the CDP questionnaire, great news, you're well on the way to being able to comply with the ISSB requirements which are going to be rolled out into regulation all around the world." 🏘 New CDP data analysis shows more than 4 in 5 of the world’s cities are facing challenging climate hazards such as flooding, extreme heat and drought. Without a clear picture of hazards it will be impossible for authorities to build effective mitigation and adaptation plans. Reporting environmental data through CDP-ICLEI Track lets global cities tackle the greatest challenge of our age with renewed clarity of direction. The Biodiversity Plan, agreed at COP15 in 2022, requires governments, organizations and financial institutions to start their biodiversity disclosure journey. Biodiversity disclosure is fundamental to its implementation: 💡 Disclosing organizations better understand how they depend on and impact nature 🪙 The data improves investors’ ability to price-in nature-related risks and opportunities This year, we’ve integrated our questionnaire, meaning we’re inviting all companies to report biodiversity data for the first time. Our questionnaire is dynamic so companies will be presented with questions that are relevant to them, without duplication, alongside our incorporated guidance. This will provide policymakers, investors, lenders, and procurement teams with even more and better biodiversity data. Disclose today: https://lnkd.in/eJBRan9S

📢 Upstream Scope 3 emissions are 26 times higher than Scopes 1 and 2. CDP has partnered with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for the third annual supply chain report. BCG's Diana Dimitrova sat down with CDP's Sonya Bhonsle and James Chamberlayne to discuss key findings: - Upstream Scope 3 emissions are not necessarily increasing. - More companies are reporting on their upstream Scope 3 emissions, assessing those emissions better, and highlighting the scale of the upstream challenge. The report uncovers crucial insights and provides actionable strategies for corporations to advance their action and ambition on Scope 3 emissions. 📣🌱 This is our window to secure a #NaturePositive economy for all by 2030. With less than 100 days until #COP16, Business for Nature coalition has published a business statement outlining five high-level policy recommendations for governments to accelerate the implementation of the #Biodiversity Plan to drive corporate #Nature action. CDP was delighted to support Business for Nature to develop these recommendations, with robust environmental disclosure at their heart. The statement, endorsed by 130 businesses and financial institutions with combined revenues of $1.1 trillion, calls on governments to adopt policies to: 🌎 Make sure business and financial actors protect nature and restore degraded ecosystems 🌎 Ensure sustainable resource use and management to reduce negative environmental impacts 🌎 Value and embed nature in decision-making and disclosure 🌎 Align all financial flows to transition to a nature-positive, net zero and equitable economy 🌎 Adopt or strengthen ambitious global agreements to address key nature loss challenges It’s time for governments to create an enabling regulatory framework and put nature at the heart of decision making.

This year we've made some changes to our corporate questionnaire. We want to empower organizations to better assess the environmental risks, impacts and opportunities in line with incoming regulation. Organizations reporting on more than one environmental theme this year will now use a single questionnaire rather than three individual questionnaires. CDP's corporate questionnaire is made up of 450 questions, and it’s dynamic, so it presents only relevant questions, without duplication, alongside our incorporated guidance. Our questionnaire is designed to create the data needed to act. We ask the right questions to ensure that capital markets, procurement teams and the data ecosystem have decision-useful environmental data.
