One of the measures I've always taken very seriously in my business is Net Promoter Score. At the end of the day it's what clients say that matters and so I was chuffed to bits to win the UK's Best Client Rating award at our awards dinner last night. The NPS score came out at 96 which I'm thrilled with but what makes it even better is that just under 50 clients were invited to participate in this survey and 100% responded. So a massive thank you to all of the businesses I support for allowing me into your business and to sit with you and watch you, your teams and your business grow. It really is the best job in the world and evenings like last night just top it off. #coaching #business #edinburgh

As young people up and down the country look ahead to receiving their exam results this summer, we caught up with Edinburgh-based Celsius Plumbing & Heating to hear about the benefits of apprentices for would-be plumbers, and their employers. Celsius’ foray into apprenticeships began in winter 2007, when founder Michael Cairns found himself made redundant as a young gas engineer. After setting up Celsius Plumbing and Heating, Michael won a six-month Government contract which stipulated he couldn’t work alone, so brother Steven joined as an apprentice. The rest, as they say, is history and the firm now employs a 16-strong team, including two apprentices. In a nutshell, Michael says: “Knowing a trade is having a skill for life.
