Putting wellbeing economics into practice

About us

Centre for Thriving Places was founded in 2010 as the Happy City Initiative, with the aim of shifting the focus of economies from consumption based growth to the wellbeing of people, place and planet. The vision is being achieved with the help of our internationally recognised evidence-based measurement tools - the Thriving Places Index and the Happiness Pulse. We work with local authorities and organisations to help them develop practical pathways for measuring, understanding and improve economic wellbeing.
