Cerbos PDP is a self-hosted, open source authorization layer that separates your authZ logic from your core application code. It allows for swift and secure set up and modification of complex roles and permissions. Unlike traditional methods that require intricate code manipulation, Cerbos PDP simplifies the process by making changes through configuration. This reduces risks associated with authZ changes, such as downtime or security incidents. Cerbos PDPs structure, independent from the app code, allows business stakeholders and non-expert engineers to understand the permissions structure. A broader range of stakeholders can make changes to the authZ logic without needing extensive coding knowledge or risking the stability of the core application. In an era where authZ logic is business logic, the ability to quickly adapt and scale this element is vital. PDP makes this possible, facilitating an agile response to new markets and customer needs while maintaining a mature product.

🔐 We have a new blog post out, discussing the best solution for user authorization: PBAC vs. Zanzibar Depending on your specific needs, PBAC and Zanzibar-based authorization each offer unique benefits. Making the right choice is critical. Option 1️⃣ PBAC with Cerbos: Flexible, scalable, and stateless – ideal for real-time access control decisions. Option 2️⃣ Zanzibar: Centralized, fine-grained control for static, high-volume resources. If your application deals with dynamic data, frequently changing access requirements, or simply needs a flexible, easy-to-manage solution - PBAC with Cerbos is a great choice. But if your app manages a static collection of resources with highly specific access controls, and you need centralized permissions, Zanzibar might be your answer. Check out the full blog to learn more & make an informed choice 👉 https://bit.ly/3ZbbFRF #PBAC #AccessControl #Authorization #Cerbos #Zanzibar #Security #Stateless

We're happy to announce that Cerbos Hub Audit Logs are live in beta! 🚀 Cerbos Hub Audit Logs offer a comprehensive, centralized solution for capturing and analyzing authorization decisions across all PDP instances. Whether you're a developer, security engineer, or product manager, this feature will make debugging faster, and achieving security and compliance easier 💡 👉By configuring your PDPs to send audit logs to Cerbos Hub, you get an immediate log aggregation solution to securely collect, store, and query audit logs from across your fleet. And, since everything is natively Cerbos, the audit logs interface in Hub takes full advantage of the context of each log entry. This means you can deep dive into every decision to understand why it was made, and even which version of the policy was active at the time. Check out our latest blog post for all the details ➡ https://bit.ly/3TgB5tr #Authorization #AuditLogs #Logs #FeatureLaunch #Security #Compliance #Debugging #Cerbos #CerbosHub
