If you didn’t have time to listen to the 77min Budget yesterday, don’t worry. We have summarised the key points relating to the electric vehicle sector for you below 🤓 ⚡ The Government has reaffirmed plans to restore the 2030 internal combustion engine vehicle phase-out. It committed to ‘phasing out new cars that rely solely on internal combustion engines by 2030 and that from 2035 all new cars and vans sold in the UK will be zero emission” 🚗 The continuation of low company car tax rates for zero-emissions cars beyond 2028 to support fleet take-up and EV salary sacrifices schemes. 🚙 Doubling the cost of the first year’s Vehicle Excise Duty for buyers of petrol and diesel cars, whilst electric cars will pay the lowest first year rate of £10 until 2029/30. 🚕 Extending the 100% First Year Allowance for electric cars and charge points for businesses for one more year. 🔌 Providing over £200m in 2025/26 to accelerate the rollout of EV chargepoints, including help for on-street charging provisions for local authorities, in addition to the existing Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure funds in England. 🚐 Continuation of the Plug-In Van Grant for another year to support people buying new electric vans and the manufacture of wheelchair-accessible EVs. 🏭 More than £2bn over five years to support the automotive sector ramp up production of zero-emission vehicles. We welcome these measures which reaffirm the government's will to support the take-up of electric vehicles. #evcharging #smartcharging #sustainability #electricvehicles #innovation #greenenergy #cleanfuture

Last week Natasha Asghar MS mentioned our solution during the Welsh Parliament Plenary session. Ken Skate Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales replied: "I’m also incredibly interested in the potential of the innovation that the Member has pointed to to address some of the shortfalls in electric vehicle charging at present. And we’re keen to work with any innovators, with research institutions, particularly with the market, because I believe it’s the market that has the innovation and the creativity to solve the sort of problems that the Member has highlighted." https://lnkd.in/gfCU95pQ
