September was another busy month for the Centre as our charity provided direct support to 388 of our members through a wide range of services including physio, exercise and oxygen therapy. We cannot do it without your help. A one-to-one physio session costs £63 and an oxygen therapy session costs £22. All this adds up to £100,000 every month just to maintain our services. Please become a regular giver and help people affected by MS, Parkinson's and strokes to live life to the full. Thank you. https://lnkd.in/e3B6RcgW

Helping people affected by neurological conditions to live life to the full.
About us
The Chilterns Neuro Centre provides much-needed support and stability for people with MS, Parkinson's and stroke survivors, as well as their families and their carers. We are an independent charity and within our local community we strive to help people gain greater control over their neurological condition so they can lead happy and healthy lives. We provide physio, hydro, oxygen, complementary and occupational therapies that are not available regularly or long-term on the NHS. Everyone at the Centre understands neurological conditions, whether it’s our expert and approachable staff, our fantastic volunteers or one of our over 600 members themselves. We provide comprehensive treatment and holistic care which include social and emotional support to over 330 people each week. . A diagnosis affects the whole family, so the Centre also supports their husbands, wives, partners, parents and children. What our members say about us.... 'MS can be really cruel but I have learnt strategies to cope which really help me’ ‘They provide me with support physically, mentally and emotionally and I look forward to coming every week’ ‘Love what they do, love how they do it, life would be even harder without them’ ‘Quite simply you are a real lifeline'. The Centre, based in Wendover, supports people with MS, Parkinson's and stoke survivors from across Buckinghamshire and neighbouring counties.

Does your company send out Christmas Cards? If so then please consider buying them from our charity. We have a lovely range of cards made exclusively for us by some very talented members and supporters of the Centre, making them as unique as they are heartfelt. Thanks to the generosity of Greens Ltd who printed our cards, every penny you spend will go towards supporting people with MS, Parkinson's and stroke survivors. https://lnkd.in/g9Wev5ZQ

November is Make a Will Month and one of our lovely members, Catherine Golds, who is also our former Chair of Trustees, tells her story of why making a Will and planning to leave a legacy to the Centre was important to her. Do read her story and if you need to make or update your Will then please do take advantage of the terrific opportunity that Make a Will Month provides. Our four participating solicitors have all agreed to waive their fees in lieu of a donation to the Centre. https://lnkd.in/eN6UjFt9

We would love to hear from any of our members who work in London as this could open us up to new funding opportunities. We have access to London-based donors but would need to show a connection to the city. If you work in London and the Centre has empowered you to continue working then please get in touch. What a fabulous night we had on Friday with our annual Quiz Night! Lots of happy quizzers and lots of money raised for our charity so everyone’s a winner. A big thank you to Michael Anthony Estate Agents for sponsoring the event and helping to make it happen. A very special thank you to all our fantastic volunteers. As with so many things at the Centre, we couldn’t do what we do without your continued support.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our relaunched business networking event last night! It was great to see so many familiar faces as well as some new ones, and the conversations were fantastic. If you want to join us for our next event, we are holding one on Thursday 6 February 2025, at the Centre. Comment below if you'd like to be invited.

Thank you to our lovely friends at Better Mobility Limited for loaning us a Sara Stedy to complement our OT table which is designed to provide advice on how people affected by MS, Parkinson's and strokes can maintain or improve their independence. The Sara Stedy, beautifully modelled by our OT, Wendy Valentine, and our physio, Annette Cockroft, is a great piece of equipment that encourages people who are more mobile to stand independently and helps minimise manual handling by carers.
