The UK Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, spoke with Chinese Vice Premier HE Lifeng on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th September. According to reports, it was a constructive conversation, discussing the opportunity to strengthen the economic relationship, not least through the resumption of the UK-China Economic & Financial Dialogue (EFD). The Chancellor and Vice Premier also discussed strategies to promote and expand cooperation in areas including financial services, the green economy, biomedicine and AI, as well as considering investment liberalisation and facilitation.
