Sweco Building Control is thrilled to be providing regulatory support for Paradise SE11, a new six-storey, timber office building that is setting a new standard for sustainable workspaces. As a building control approver for the Paradise project by Bywater Properties, we had the privilege of collaborating with Sumitomo Forestry in Japan, who have a rich history in timber development. Dale Anderson, Head of Building Standards at #SwecoUK says: "This is yet another development where we’ve been able to ensure safety and regulatory standards are met in a building that is setting a benchmark for sustainable and environmentally friendly construction practices. We’re particularly proud to have set an exemplary regulatory standard for such an evolutionary timber structure on the #UrbanTransition landscape." The Paradise build in 40-seconds.   We wanted to share this impressive footage of the mass timber frame and flooring taking shape at our Paradise project over the past few months. Throughout you can see the installation of key design features including the timber hybrid superstructure, CLT floors, glulam beams and the concrete and steel core.   We topped out the project this month and expect to be complete in early 2025 and would like to thank the teams who have been central to the progress we have made so far.
