English shoes since 1873

About us

Church’s history can be traced back to 1617, when Anthony Church, a master shoemaker was handcrafting shoes in Northampton, England, a town renowned for producing fine footwear since medieval times. His descendants followed in his footsteps, establishing Church’s & Co in 1873. Church’s still manufactures in Northampton, while its 62 directly-owned and operated retail stores now span the globe, with locations in London, Paris, Edinburgh, Milan, Berlin, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai and Beijing. Church’s continues to present men’s and women’s collections that are unparalleled for craftsmanship and luxury. These handmade shoes are loyal to the artisanal traditions of English shoemaking. Timeless in aesthetic and exceptional in quality, they are amongst the most long-lasting and desirable in the world. Church’s has been owned by the Prada Group since 1999

Friends and celebrities joined us at London’s The Twenty Two member’s club and hotel. The characterful Mayfair manor house was the perfect place to host our ode to this iconic style. Guests were treated to music from vinyl DJ trio Next Door Records and Jazz performances, live artisanal demonstrations, shoemaking animations, dinner and cocktails. ‘The Church’s Garden’ pop-up honoured the Off Town collection with an indoor forest and a flower counter. Our Regent Street store was transformed with luscious greenery, courtesy of Petersham Nurseries. Draped to resemble the wild English countryside, the installation plays on the versatility of the collection, designed for elegance yet crafted to withstand weekend wanderings. Haws, the world’s oldest manufacturer of watering cans, collaborated with Church’s on a special edition of their distinctive steel can with a curved spout. The day was a bold celebration of fine British craft. Topped off with a complementary bouquet of hand-tied Astrid posies for all who visited. Explore more at bit.ly/ChurchsOffTown. #churchsshoes

Delightfully British. This countryside Church’s campaign explores Englishness with an eccentric lens. St. Giles House in Dorset, the ancestral home of the 12th Earl of Shaftesbury, played host to fun and frolicking – in fine footwear. Games of rugby, golf, fishing and a picnic take on a playfully unusual air. As with Church’s shoes, heritage meets a hint of rebellion.
