Juliet brings extensive experience in driving portfolio growth and value creation from her time as a revenue generation expert in LDC’s portfolio growth team. Juliet will work closely with our growing portfolio of businesses enabling the circular economy. Shark Solutions has announced a new partnership with Amorim Cork Composites (ACC), a world leader in composite materials. Shark’s recycled PVB binder will be used in ACC’s new sustainable replacement for heavy-mass sound dampening sheets. The innovative product provides the same acoustic damping performance as traditional materials but benefits from a significantly lower and density and carbon footprint. Crucially, because Shark’s circular solution utilises recycled materials from broken car windshields, its binders significantly reduce the need for virgin plastics. As part of a successful collaboration with aquafiltech AG, Circularity investee CERAFILTEC is working with the Elephant Park at Zoo Zürich to enhance the animals’ access to clean water. Replacing traditional plastic systems, the ceramic ultrafiltration membrane modules optimise the water treatment process by reducing the volume of chemical consumption, removing the need for a neutralisation tank and by offering end-of-life recyclability – thereby reducing the amount of virgin material use. Shark Solutions, the market leader in the production of recycled rPVB, has further expanded its operations in the USA with a third laminated glass recycling plant in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Circularity investee, ACS (Advanced Clothing Solutions) has joined The Climate Pledge, becoming one of 501 signatories across 45 countries committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Alongside reaching the Paris Agreement’s net zero by 2050 goal a decade earlier, ACS pledges to regularly measure and report emissions to ensure transparency, as well as implement business change and innovation to improve efficiencies, adopt renewable energy and neutralise remaining emissions. Circularity portfolio company Winnow has published the results of its Green Ramadan campaign. In 2024, the initiative ran across 32 hotels in 7 countries, serving 239,000 guests. Following the success of last year’s campaign, which saw food waste reduced by more than 60%, this year’s initiative saw waste reduced by a further 21%. SharkDispersionTD™ is a binder specifically designed for applications that require enhanced foaming, including carpet precoat, carpet backing and a diverse range of wider textile applications. Our portfolio company Matsmart - Motatos has published its first ever impact report, announcing the business’ environmental and financial results for 2023. In addition to surpassing a revenue of one billion Swedish Krona ($95 million), the company recirculated more than 21,000 tonnes of food and consumer products, saving more than 19,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
