Take a look at the new West Approach Bridge artwork over Dalry Road. The installation has been created by local artist Shona Hardie as part of ongoing refurbishment works to the bridge, thanks to additional external funding. Shona - who also created the colourful pieces outside Dalry Primary School earlier this year - has been hard at work painting the bridge over the last week. She commented: “The mural on this bridge is centred around the legacy Gorgie Dalry logo, which I found to be a repeating, much loved design when researching ideas in the local area. I wanted to create a bright, joyful celebration of the many communities that live and work here. I’ve tried to reflect this through the interweaving flora, native to many of the countries and cultures represented. My hope is that this creates a sense of welcomeness, inclusivity and belonging to everyone.”

In North Edinburgh this food bank (and so much more besides) has been designed to look and operate like any other shop ❤ Thanks to Fresh Start and all community organisations in Edinburgh helping others through the cost of living crisis. Council Leader Cammy Day made a visit ahead of #ChallengePovertyWeek day 5 where the theme is volunteers 🙌

In North Edinburgh Council Leader Cammy Day took a visit today to Fresh Start. Not only are they providing a local food pantry shop, they offer home starter packs to people have been homeless. They teach cooking and food growing skills and offer English language classes. One of the many amazing orgs helping us to tackle poverty in Edinburgh this #ChallengePovertyWeek and all year round.
